You can visit us in person or access many of our resources from your computer.

To find books:

Use the Online Catalog. This is a list of everything the library owns, including books, periodicals CDs, DVDs, Videocassettes, and Government Documents. Click here for more information on finding books.

To find articles:

Use the library's Databases, which contain both article citations and some complete articles.   Click here for more information on finding articles.

Electronic Reserves:

Your instructor may put articles online for you to read.  To find them, click on Electronic Reserves (also listed under Quick Links on the Library's homepage), then on your instructor's name, then on the title of the article.  Then enter the username and password given to you by your professor for this purpose, to access these articles.  Please note: Library staff members do not have this information; you'll need to contact a classmate or your instructor if you do not have the username and password.

Reserve Desk

This is where you come to find books, printed articles, CDs or DVDs that your instructor has put back for his/her students' use.  So that all students in the class will have a chance to use the material, these items may be checked out for only a short time and most must be used within the library.  You need to know your instructor's name, and the name of the item if possible, in order for us to find the right item for you.

Checking out materials

Your valid FHSU student/faculty/staff ID is also your library card.  There is no limit to the number of items that may be borrowed.  Fines are 25 cents per day for most items, but fines for Reserve items or items borrowed from other libraries are significantly higher.

If items are not returned, the borrower will be charged a replacement cost of $55.00 or more.  Unpaid fees and fines can result in suspension of library privileges and a hold may be placed on transcripts and re-enrollment.   If you have received an overdue notice for items you believe you have returned, please contact us at 628-4434.  Click here for complete information on patron's rights and responsibilities when checking out materials.
