To see a detailed report on a specific country, type the country name into the search box searching "All Subjects".  Then, select the results from the CIA World Factbook (source is listed at the bottom of each brief entry on the results page).  You'll find population, religion, environmental problems, and a lot more.  At the top of the page, you can use the Compare feature to compare countries across all these same information categories.

Click link and then click LexisNexis Academic in alphabetical list.  Choose "Major US & World Papers" for US and international news.

 

Ethnic NewsWatch (limit 2 simultaneous users)

 

Click link, then on title in alphabetical list.  Then, click the drop-down menu next to "Multiple Databases" and select "Interdisciplinary:  Ethnic Newswatch"

 

This database covers the alternative press and smaller publications that target specific ethnic groups and provide a viewpoint not always available in the mainstream press.  You can limit your search by ethnic group, including:  African American/African/Caribbean, Arab/Middle Eastern, Asian/Pacific Islander, European/Eastern European, Hispanic, Jewish, Multi-Ethnic, or Native People.
