Finding Articles

Article citations can be found in library databases and on the web.  Some articles are available in full-text (that is, the complete article) on the Web. However, many are only available in library databases, or in print journals, magazines or newspapers, because the publishers require that users pay a subscription to access their information.  As a student, you have paid for access to the information in the library's databases with your tuition and fees.  They are available to you 24 hours a day, from your own computer.  Try them out!

There are databases that cover many topics and contain both scholarly and popular articles.  Other databases focus on a single discipline or subject.  Some databases have a lot of full-text articles, while others contain only citations and abstracts (summaries) of articles.  Choosing the right database for your topic will make your research much easier.
